About the role - Youth Mentor - Lambeth

As a Youth Mentor, this position provides excellent opportunities to gain experience in a school setting. In this position, you will provide support to children with challenging behaviour in a secondary school. You will be responsible for ensuring that their academic and behavioural needs are met. Youth Mentors are expected to be approachable, since they can be the student's point of contact or someone who they feel comfortable talking to. Since these students will be looking up to you as a Youth Mentor, you must be a strong and positive role model. A youth mentor assists in the planning of educational programs as well as youth recreational activities, such as sports, arts, and drama, while assessing the needs of the youth in terms of health, social, and emotional development. It will be your responsibility to plan and manage community events and to organize social events for those who are struggling with their social life, health problems and antisocial behaviour.
