There isn’t an R1 out there that wasn’t top of its class in the group tests, and this version is no exception. Moving away from the side mounted exhaust to the underseat affairs as well as radial brakes, a 20 valve head and a claimed 1 to 1 power to weight, this version was and still is a very focused bike. Certainly one for the superbike purist!

As you can see, it has been fitted with some lovely Yoshimura tri-oval exhausts as well as multi adjustable levers, Harris multi position rear sets and frame/tank protection. Aside from some inline front indicators and a tail tidy, it’s pretty much stock though.

It has a decent, but not full service history although it was given a major service just 11 months ago (including valve clearance check), and this also included fitment of a power commander and a dyno run. Its supplied with one black and one red key as well as a wealth of receipts from past keepers.
