This is a clear sounding, easily playable classical (or folk) guitar that would suit beginner to intermediate.
Nylon strings and the wider fretboard tend to help beginners master chord shapes and the extra space between strings assists plucking/fingerpicking technique. However the quality build and sound of this model would also suit a more experienced player.
The C80 is superior to the often recommended Yamaha C40. These C80s tend to retail at over £200 new and fetch £90 to £150 second-hand depending on condition. At the price I'm selling you can easily sell it on for the same price (or a bit more) if you find that, after a while, it's not to your liking.
I am selling as I have 3 nylon-strung guitars. One belonged to my late father so I keep it for sentimental reasons. The other, which in my opinion does not sound as clear as this C80, is being kept because it is an electro-acoustic and sometimes I want an amplified sound.
The advantage of buying locally, as opposed to online, is that you can get to try before you buy plus there is no 3rd party transit which might cause damage as well as extra cost.
This guitar will be advertised elsewhere. (Same price, same text etc)
Eventually, and reluctantly, if it does not sell locally it will be posted on eBay at a higher price.
Here are a few choice quotes from internet sites and feedback forums:
"Choosing between the Yamaha C40 vs C80 depends on your specific requirements and preferences. Both guitars excel in craftsmanship, reliability, and playability. The C40 offers affordability and versatility, making it an excellent choice for beginners or those on a budget. Meanwhile, the C80 showcases superior tonal richness and expressive capabilities, making it an ideal option for experienced players seeking enhanced sound quality."
"I was very impressed by this Yamaha guitar because the price-performance ratio is absolutely great. It has a very powerful and warm sound. And it is very easy to play, and it is very precise for classical pieces where you need to play quickly."
