About this client:
Zack (9) is a bright, active, and intelligent child. He enjoys swimming, baking, story time, being outside in nature and spending time with his family. Zack is incredibly determined, focused, and strives for his independence. He has Dystonic Cerebral Palsy and epilepsy. Zack is supported in the ethos of conductive education which means he is enabled by his support staff to be as independent as possible in all his activities of daily living. Zack uses a communication device talker to support his expressive language and make his needs and wishes known. Zack has a supportive team of expert therapists who will teach you how to deliver his daily therapy programs.
Overview of role:
As Zack’s Support Worker, you will assist him to continue his therapy programs and develop his independence outside of school hours. This is a very active role where you will incorporate Zack’s therapies into his daily routine and play, through enjoyable activities and exploring new interests. Your input will help promote Zack’s self-help and independence skills and help him reach his full potential. Zack needs full support with his toileting and personal care; his family is building a team that provides him 2:1 support throughout his days and is very flexible on days / hours and shifts offered. We have permanent part-time contracts available and will consider a job share.
Who this job would suit:
A fantastic role for a SEN Teacher, Teaching Assistant or Student looking for additional income and has availability during weekends and school holidays. You will need to be fit and healthy, this is a very active role, and have a genuine interest in learning and providing therapy. You will be working alongside another team member and/or Zack’s parents who are wholly supportive and invested in building a positive dynamic team.
What’s great about this job:
This is an interesting permanent role within a very kind and supportive family, with a competitive hourly rate.
