ROLE - Warehouse Operations Manager
As Warehouse Ops Manager you will tasked with submitting a full overview of the entire warehouse operation including layout, staff, shift patterns, vehicles, MHE & HSE. You will work closely with the General Manager, looking at process and costing control. You will then form a prioritised plan of action with target dates for completion set against each item on the agenda.
You will be responsible for:
Picking and packing of sheet material including internal flyer stock sharing system Overseeing all orders that come into the warehouse from start to finish Overseeing of all goods in from checking off to booking in Use of our WMS AX (Microsoft Navision) Liaise with customers, suppliers and transport companies Coordinate and monitor the receipt and dispatch of goods Use space and mechanical handling equipment efficiently, making sure quality, budgetary targets and environmental objectives are met Have a clear understanding of the company's policies and vision and how the warehouse contributes to these Coordinate the use of automated and computerised systems where necessary Keep stock control systems up to date and make sure inventories are accurate Organise the recruitment and training of staff, as well as monitoring staff 1-2-1 performance and progress Produce regular reports and statistics on a daily, weekly and monthly basis Maintain standards of health and safety oversee the planned maintenance of vehicles, machinery and equipment You must ensure our customers receive the best possible service, it is vital that the Warehouse and Sales Team work together and communicate to the best of their ability Maximum efficiency and optimisation of the working day You are expected to complete your daily tasks as quickly and efficiently as possible whilst at the same time take pride and care of your work ensuring our customers receive the best possible service and materials The companies Operators Licence is of extreme importance you must ensure we are complaint in all areas. Skills and experience needed.
Excellent oral and written communication skills Numeracy and an understanding of finance for stock management People management skills are essential, including the ability to inspire, lead and motivate a team of people, delegate work and explain ideas Planning and organising skills to effectively manage the flow of stock Initiative, decisive are words that would describe you, problem-solving skills the ability to work under pressure are skills that come east to you. Technical and IT skills, particularly when it comes to database management and spreadsheets Problem-solving skills the ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines Knowledge of the legal requirements of operating a warehouse. It may occasionally be necessary to travel during the working day. Experience of running a small fleet of vehicles FLT licence desirable CPC desirable but not essential
