About the Service / Department

Ealing Older People Floating Support (EOPFS) provides support to service users in the community and in their own homes. We work with people with a wide range of long-term conditions and complex needs. We promote our service user's independence whilst aiming to improve their wellbeing and supporting progress towards individual goals.

About the role

Be the point of contact for all volunteers engaged in this service. Assist the service manager and volunteer workers with all aspects of the volunteering service in Ealing Older Floating Support Team. This includes providing information, keep accurate records and assist in delivering the set targets. Assist the service manager to achieve service outcomes, develop a volunteering toolkit for service staff. Work closely with the service manager to deliver the operational plan, identify the need for and most effective use of community, timescales, and performance indicators. Provide information to volunteers in regard to service users they are supporting. Thorough understanding of equality and diversity legislation. Assist the service manager to develop, support and promote local service initiatives, which encourage volunteer recruitment/involvement. Assist in the development of information materials and improved communication methods for a diverse community of individuals and groups. Manage information requests from stakeholders and the general public. Cover duty and be the main point of contact when service users call the duty telephone line. Maintain the Petty Cash system, regularly balancing the float, keep up-to date records in line with set guidelines and ensure the security of the cash box. About you

At least 2 years of experience of working in a administrative / coordinator social care or health care role (preferably older people). Excellent skills in MS Office applications such as Word, PowerPoint and Excel. Able to draft professional correspondence and accessible written documentation for a wide range of audiences, including letter, minutes, summary tables, internal newsletters and intranet announcements. Confidence to communicate verbally to a wide range of internal and external audiences on the phone and face to face, being persuasive, diplomatic and tactful. Able to plan and prioritise workload for self and others and to work on own initiative. Ability to manage time with a varied workload, doing routine and unpredictable tasks whilst meeting set deadlines. Excellent interpersonal skills with confidence and the ability to interact, support and answer service users queries who may contact the duty telephone line. The ability to work in a way that promotes and maintains dignity. First class written and oral communication skills. Maintaining confidentiality to the highest level. Knowledge and understanding of safeguarding issues and the ability to address them appropriately.
