ESSE Courier Lo Stove. Here is a post war (1950/60’s) tove built in Scotland in the post war period. Has the most striking metallic blue enamel finish that the photos don’t do justice. Bought to install in our garden cabin but realised it would be just too powerful regarding output. Originally built to burn coal but will burn modern solid fuel and well seasoned wood.
Is all complete with the cinder trays and original tools. Has some cracking on the top inner casting and one of the mica windows is broken. The mica windows are replaceable from online and the cracks can be welded, soldered or sealed with the right fire cement. If you search on the Hearthdotcom website you can even find original user instructions.
These things were being sold by reclamation yards a few years ago for silly money, but they are stunning as a perfect period piece.
