The guitar is in very good cosmetic and playable condition with the beautiful woods that were widely available in the early 1970s. The inside label identifies this guitar as a Sorrento, handcrafted exclusively for Jents House of Music in Lubbock Texas, Made in Japan. But engraved on the inside spine of the guitar is Yairi Nagoya Made In Japan Nagoya is the location of the S Yairi shop. The guitar pre-dates the Clase series of guitars which I believe were made exclusively for the Philadelphia Music Company. However, I own a Clase 700 dated 1972, currently on sale at the Reverb site, and laying both guitars side by side leaves no doubt that this guitar is in the same class or clase. Clase is Spanish for class and the word was probably used as a marketing technique to promote the illusion that this was a Spanish made guitar.I own over 30 guitars and my wife would be happy I can get it down to 10 by the end of the year, which explains why I am risking selling this a price well below its value to a player or a collector.
