Veterinary Surgeon
Amery Veterinary Group, Hampshire
Up to GBP75,000 DOE plus GBP5,000 Welcome Bonus and up to GBP5,000 Relocation Allowance
We have a great opportunity for an experienced, small animal Vet to join our close-knit and supportive team. You will primarily work at our Alton practice (you may have to occasionally cover a shift at one of the other branches) giving you the opportunity to work-up your cases and have a varied workload. We believe that this aids in fostering a bonded relationship with our clients.
Work life balance that works for you
We would welcome both full or part time applicants. Typically, the hours for this role are 40 hours over 5 days per week, Monday - Friday, plus 1 in 3 Saturday mornings. There are no out of hours associated with this role however we occasionally look after our own in-patients - treatment checks which are optional and paid for. However, we understand that you have priorities outside of work therefore we are happy to discuss flexibility around the working days / hours.
Our Practices
We are a very well-established, 100% small animal RCVS accredited practice located right next to the beautiful South Downs National Park, less than 1 hour from the coast, access to London via train and easy access to Gatwick and Heathrow airport. We have three surgeries serving the communities around Alton, Bordon and Grayshott. We continually strive for excellence in management, medicine, surgery, diagnostic and service to enrich and lengthen the special relationship between people and their pets.
Both our Alton and Bordon clinics are well equipped to allow surgical work, case work ups and hospitalization of patients. The facilities include:
Separate cat and dog wards
Excellent ultrasound equipment including cardiac probes
Idexx VetLab stations for same day haematology, biochemistry and electrolytes
Digital radiograph
High speed dental handpieces and Bordon has a new digital dental radiograph system
Dedicated theatres for surgical work
Grayshott is our smallest clinic, based in the centre of a picturesque village. We only offer consultations at our Grayshott practice.
Our Team and Culture
Working in a Vet practice is a big part of our lives, and we want to enjoy coming in to work and to feel appreciated by colleagues and clients. We have a supportive and committed team of 1 Clinical Director, 6 Vets, 5 RVNs, 4 SVNs and 7 Receptionists in our 3 well-equipped surgeries on the Hampshire/Surrey border. We also have a visiting Orthopaedic Surgeon for the more challenging surgical cases.
Our Clinical Director, Annedine joined us as from South Africa initially as a Veterinary Surgeon in 2010, progressing to CD in 2023. Annedine has a strong interest in Veterinary Medicine and is super supportive of the whole team.
We offer a vibrant workplace where you will be joining an enthusiastic and motivated team. Amery is a place where you will feel supported, encouraged and challenged.
