Avencia Consulting are currently recruiting on behalf of a leading Specialty & Bespoke Insurer based in the City, who are looking to hire an Underwriting Analyst to join.
The Company currently writes lines of business including; specialty insurance: aviation & aerospace, energy, marine, property, terror & political violence, contingency and other specialty lines; reinsurance: property reinsurance, property retrocession, specialty reinsurance, whole account/multi-class and bespoke.
The role
This position is a collaborative role providing support for data quality, analysis and root cause analysis. The Data Quality Analyst will ensure timely, accurate, and complete reporting of data, co-ordinate with the underwriting function to enhance data, complete required data updates and provide the required information for preventative measures to enhance the overall quality of the data.
The analyst will also be responsible for supporting, tracking, and collecting information related to our Service level reporting requirements.
Key accountabilities
Assist with the design and implementation of Data Quality technical and process solutionsBusiness As Usual management of Data Quality issues, Data Quality solutions and Data Management processesIdentification and documentation of Data Quality issuesDesign, ownership and management of the Data Quality Issues LogDevelopment of Data Quality dashboards and reports for various stakeholdersOversight and maintenance of remediation activities associated with Data Quality issuesSupport for Root Cause AnalysisSupport the delivery of services to assist in the mitigation of Data Quality RiskImprove the data at source for the submission processAccountable for monitoring that any errors are corrected or questions are answered by the appropriate internal groupsPartner with Technical Operations and IT to ensure accuracy of data collection and identify areas of improvement in data managementUnderstand and take ownership of our business processes, and recommend improvements in data management, error identification, quality control, or process automation. Proactively identify better ways of working and opportunities for automationEnsure changes resulting from any data quality issues are appropriately documented, governed and controlledEnsure best practice and process documents are created to support training across the teamProactively complete analysis to make business improvement recommendations for your areaResponsible for Developing, managing, and administering service management reporting for the Underwriting function.Management of our third party supplier, facilitating monthly, quarterly and annual reviews along with management of the relationship.Monitoring SLA performance for compliance with organizational needs and requirements.Facilitating all reporting and communication between the Underwriting function and its stakeholders across the business.Skills & experience
Strong knowledge of insurance processes and KPIs e.g. Pricing, Reserving and Underwriting practicesExperience in Insurance Accounting, or familiarity with London Market specialty business lines for Insurance coverages and data. A strong passion for Data Quality /Integrity and setting up processes to reflect thisA practical understanding of Underwriting systems.Basic competency in MS Office applications: Word and Adobe Standard required.Advanced Outlook and Excel skills.Demonstrated ability to master new concepts quickly and take initiative with own personal development.Ability to develop relationships with key stakeholders both internal and externally across the Company.Must be able to self-lead and work effectively both independently and with teams.Demonstrated ability to deliver and manage accurate thoughtful detail-oriented work within tight deadlines.
