My story

　　**Only available after August 24**This miniature dachshund was brought in as a stray by a woman that is believed to have been the owner.She had a terrible abscess in her mouth that ate a hole through her little face under her eye and was in extreme pain but still just as sweet as she could be until you tried to cut the inch long talons she had. She didn't like that at all but she finally let the vet do that and the (negative) heartworm test.She is good with other SMALL (under 10 lb!) dogs, didn't bother the cat when she met her outside; she seemed to like everybody she met at the vet (no children preferred, but certainly none under age 12) and at the shelter and her little pencil tail just never stops wagging.She went straight to the pee pad to go potty and she will go outside with the rest of my dogs, too.She deserves the best of the best for the rest of her life and to be treated like the queen that she is.She wants so badly to play with my dogs, but they are just old, grumpy and don't want to play. The blind/brain damaged one is just afraid of her, though she is totally in love with him. I doubt she is even 5 years old, truthfully, since she is so FEISTY and playful but it is hard to tell with her teeth being in the mess they are in. We thought she was a lot older because of those teeth! But she doesn't have discoloration of her skin on her belly like an older dog would, so we've listed her around 5 years old. We just have no clue.She is not at all interested in toys, just humans and dogs to play with. She wants to be with someone all the time, so she needs someone home most of the time who has other little playful dogs for her to romp with.MUST HAVE CLOSE SUPERVISION outside so no big bird picks her up and carries her off.NOTE that the applicant *must be an EXPERIENCED DACHSHUND OWNER*!Dachshunds have special needs, especially mini dachshunds, and must be handled in very special ways.I am totally in love with her myself but will force myself not to keep her.Real mini dachshunds don't come along often.
