Zak's story

　　Zak! Isn't this guy unique looking!? Of course he's listed as a Pit Bull Terrier mix, because basically everything is at the shelter, BUT I think he has some Chow in there too. Chows are known for being a little more reserved/independent and that fits with Zak's personality.

　　When he first meets you, Zak likes to play it cool... sniff around the yard, trot a bit, ignore you when you call.... ;-) Don't worry, after knowing you a bit, Zak decides it's okay to be friends. Within about 20 mins, he was putting his paws on my lap and loving the attention and pets, while he squeaked his squeaky toy. Oh yes, Zak loooooves the squeakies! He will carry the toy around in his mouth squeak squeaking away! Zak is overall a mostly chill guy: He takes treats gently. He likes to roam around and explore, but doesn't get all jumpy or hyper. He walks well on the leash for the most part, with a little tugging here and there.

　　Zak, like most dogs, can be selective with his friends. Bring your dog from home in and we can help with a meet and greet (always recommended!). You can visit 5 yr old Zak at the MCAC West shelter at 2500 S. 27th Ave., Phx. Hours are 11-6 Mon-Fri and 11-5 Sat & Sun. Zak's $20 adoption fee includes neuter, rabies certificate and County license.
