The isolation base stops sub-woofer vibrations causing miss-tracking of the stylus. The Opto-sensors, common failure parts in this model, have been replaced with modern, high-reliability sensors from Omron part number: EE-SX398. Complete with the purchase will be the original user guide, and the Yamaha Service Manual.Because of the enormous weight of the isolation base, and the turntable itself, I am selling this turntable in the San Francisco Bay Area only. I can deliver the turntable and base within 150 miles of zip 94087.I've replaced the primary drive belt, and included two spares plus adjusting the secondary carrier belt tension. The result: perfect totally silent tracking across the disk, auto pickup at the disk end, and complete return of the arm to home without any intervention.I also found the lockdown mechanism from Yamaha's original shipment, so I can ship the whole unit if required. Also in that find is an older Shure V15 Type V cartridge and a spare Yamaha cartridge holder, plus a Fairchild monaural stylus for playing 78 RPM records.I have a D4 record cleaning kit unused, to include with the purchase.
