WILLOW's story
Willow was surrendered to the shelter because she has really bad anxiety when left alone, according to her previous owner. She hates being in the kennel but when left loose will destroy carpet, walls, and anything else she can get a hold of. She can also break out of flimsy wire kennels so she will need a strong crate and would prefer a home with people who are home a lot. Willow rides well in the car, minds well, and is house trained. She is said to be good with strangers but not good with small pets including small dogs and cats, as she has a high prey drive, and it is unknown how she does with small children. Willow may benefit from structured obedience classes to help her bond with her new person and continue learning about new situations, places, dogs and people, and would also do best in a very active home that can dedicate time to keeping her mentally and physically stimulated. If Willow is kept busy, her tendency towards destructive behavior when left alone may diminish. A behavioral consult with your local veterinarian may also provide some helpful solutions for Willow''s separation anxiety. Willow is a great young girl who just needs to find her perfect fit!
