Willie's story
WILLIE (ARKANSAS)
Meet Willie a tiny Yorkie boy who is estimated to be 8 years old and weighs only 3.8 pounds. He is being fostered in Bryant, AR.
Willie comes to UYR along with buddy Waylon. Both were abandoned at a Veterinarians office. When no one came for them, the office notified animal control, and these two boys were off to the shelter. We initially thought these two were very bonded but after two weeks in their foster home we have discovered that isnt the case so we are removing their bonded pair status and will consider separate adoptions.
Willie was in rough shape with matting, very long nails, bad skin and other signs of neglect when he came to us. He has early onset cataracts but his exam revealed that his vision is not compromised at all and he gets around like a champ! He has only 2 teeth and these are in bad shape and will likely need to be removed when he has his dental.
Willie is a very smart boy and is a seeker and explorer. When he is done, he will come to the couch and ask up and has started laying in foster Moms lap recently. Willie is a tiny boy so tiny rules apply: No children under age 14, small dog siblings only, etc. He is not house-trained so a patient adopter with lots of time to help him learn is a must. He is scheduled for neuter and dental in early January so stay tuned for updates! Willies veterinary expenses will run about $1000 so any donations towards his care would be much appreciated.
