Wilbur is TERRIFIC, and he's named Wilbur because just like the pig in "Charlotte's Web", he wouldn't be alive today today without his Charlotte. As a tiny puppy, Wilbur was turned in to a high-kill shelter. A wonderful lady saw his picture and called the shelter to ask about him. They told her he would probably be put to sleep, and she asked "Why?!? He's such a cute puppy!" Turns out Wilbur had mange and possibly Parvo. This wonderful lady thought Wilbur deserved a chance to live, so without ever seeing him in person she made several phone calls and paid for Wilbur to be taken to a nearby vet to receive treatment, then she arranged transport to Tucson and placement in a loving foster home where he has gotten all the care he needs to become the healthy, happy puppy he is today! Several weeks later she was finally able to meet him and enjoy the company of the terrific little dog she'd saved. Thanks to his "Charlotte" and his foster family, today Wilbur is a spunky, playful puppy who's ready to find a forever home. Wilbur loves playing fetch, and he's really great at it! He will bring you toys so you can play with him. He also loves other dogs, he just does best with bigger dogs because he plays rough and he's so big! Once he's played and eaten he loves to snuggle and get belly rubs. Wilbur will be an active, loving companion for many, many years to come. Will he be YOURS? Wilbur is a heeler mix puppy.
