UPDATE Jan 2016: Whimsy has grown up to be a lovely young lady pigeon and is now married to the big, handsome black & white pigeon named Tux. They are available for adoption together.
Whimsy, on the left, was found "released" (abandoned) in an Oakland Park with another King Pigeon youngster who died that night. They were extremely lucky to be rescued by a kind person rather then killed and eaten by hungry predators. Little Whimsy was sick with a respiratory infection and very depressed at the loss of her friend. Only a day later, we took in Dooby (on the right). Dooby was dyed green by the poultry seller and purchased for "release" at a mausoleum in San Leandro. When found, he was starving and in terrible danger. Now both are safe and inseperable. They are besties! (We think Whimsy is female and Dooby male but they are too young to know for sure.)Please apply to adopt /birds/apply-to-foster-or-adopt/
