My story

　　Sunshine in dog form!

　　Hi, pals! My name is Thumper, and I’m a 1.5-years-old Terrier mix neutered male, weighing in at 45 pounds.

　　As luck would have it, I was rescued by TAP on the day I was scheduled to be euthanized at the Riverside shelter. I was just a puppy at the time, and I subsequently went to a great foster family, who later adopted me.  But, due to circumstances with the family and an emergency overseas situation, I found my way back to TAP and am looking for my second chance at love.

　　As far as my health goes, I have a congenital disc disease, which is how I adopted my signature bunny hop to get around. My condition has progressed a bit, and I now have a slow leak incontinence that requires belly bands.  Sometimes, I can leave a little bunny turd trail as I go on my way, but it’s minimal and nothing an indoor diaper can’t fix. 

　　Although my mobility may be a little compromised, my spirit and zest for life has not! My foster mama says that I’m the happiest, sweetest, and most loving pup around.  I enjoy hopping around the yard, being pet and loved on, hanging out with doggie friends, and getting snacks. I’m super friendly, too, and get along with doggies and (human) kiddos, alike.  I haven’t spent much time with kitties yet, but due to my nature, I’m guessing I’d mesh well with them, too.  Other than that, I’m already crate and leash-trained and show no signs of separation anxiety when left behind. 

　　I think I’d do great in a moderate/active home, especially one with kids and doggie siblings.  I’d prefer a single-story house, too, since going up and down stairs would be challenging due to my mobility.  Other than that, I’d love to be unconditionally loved and promise to do the same in return!
