This is a fairly rare Washburn M-7s mandolin. Maybe made in Japan. Late70's 80's. It has a single transverse top brace, Gibson oval hole, and has a wonderful tone. It is built of all solid woods: a carved spruce top, carved bird's eye maple back, maple sides and neck and ebony fingerboard. Serial Number is 2178.These mandolins were made for a short time in the early eighties? The model # is M-7S-N, M-7S-SB or M-7S-BR for natural, sunburst or brown. The S indicates solid top. I've seen these priced from around $600.Condition> has some marks, few scratches, some corrosion on end plate.SEE PICS. In the last pic see what looks like a repair between body and neck.
