Walter Domestic Short Hair Adult - Adoption, Rescue
Walter Domestic Short Hair Adult - Adoption, Rescue
Oct 27, 2024
Description

Black, short hair, male, born approx. 6/1/15, #T1000 Walter was found in a Walmart parking lot. He had been living in the sewer and the parking lot area for at least a year. He was taken to a spay-neuter clinic where he was neutered and given his vaccines, flea treatment, and deworming medication. Since Walter was a friendly fellow, the person who got him neutered didnt want him to have to struggle to fend for himself any longer and took him home. Walter has blossomed into a VERY loving boy. He is quite the big guy (mostly muscle) and he loves to be on his favorite persons lap. Walter cannot quite fit on a persons lap, but he does not mind one bit and it certainly doesnt stop him from trying. He wants to be your beloved lap cat more than anything. If he is not getting the attention he thinks he deserves, then Walter will put his paws up on your chest and rub on your face. He loves following people and running around their feet... the center of the household action is where hes always found. Walter is such a big cat that it is quite the surprise when you hear his tiny little chirp of a voice! It can hardly be called a meow! Walter loves any toys and loves to sunbathe and chase lizards in a patio room. Walter would probably do well in any home where he could get attention and have people to pet him and play with him. He would probably love children as long as they are kind to him. He does not mind a small dog and he really enjoys the company of other cats. Walter, while healthy, tested positive for Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV). FIV is a type of "slow virus" that affects the cats immune system. FIV is a cat-only virus and cannot be passed in casual contact between cats. Cats with FIV often live long and perfectly normal symptom-free lives. Note that identical FIV positive test results occur for cats who are vaccinated for FIV as for cats with the virus. A good article about FIV can be found at bestfriends.org/Resources/FAQs-About-Feline-Immunodeficiency-Virus-FIV/. This sweet muscle-bound boy had a hard life living in a sewer in a busy parking lot. Walter is such a loving and inquisitive cat. He would be so happy to be part of a busy family with people to watch and play and love him... can you open your heart to find room to love as big a guy as Walter?
