So I took up the trumpet, with predictable results for me-- a basement full of horns. Now I need money and space— so some horns are going up on the auction block. Buy them before I change my mind again! This is a very rare LORENZO SANSONE Bb/A BASS TRUMPET in lacquered brass. Lorenzo Sansone was an Italian-born (French) horn virtuoso whose biography makes me need a nap just reading it— leading horn player/teacher/ music store owner/ instrument manufacturer, almost all at the same time. He sold instruments of his own specification; I’ve seen his trumpets and horns on eBay before, but this is the only bass trumpet with his name on it I know of. The 2nd valve marking indicates it was made by Anborg in Italy. THE GOOD: intonation for one; AFAICT it’s a true trumpet (constant diameter until final flare) rather than a constantly flaring cornet taper; well balanced with mouthpiece and comparatively light weight; can tune it down almost all the way to Ab because the tuning slide is so long. THE BAD: a few small dents in inconvenient places. THE UGLY: NO CASE— I have a 3rd party case that I’ve been storing it in, but it’s too big and will make shipping even more of a fortune (add 125.00USD if you’re the winner and you really want this case). Low start bid of FIVE HUNDRED SEVENTY NINE DAMN U.S. DOLLARS, cheap for an American/European bass trumpet. Shipping is FORTY-FIVE BUCKS in the CONUS, brilliantly packed and fully insured.THE FINE PRINT: NO RETURNS, I want this stuff gone, it is described as honestly as I can make it and take it (pictures, that is). INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING is only through eBay Int'l Shipping, as far as I am concerned. Your use of sketchy dropbox reshippers is your business and your risk. AK, HI, PR buyers, please wait for my shipping invoice, as it will probably be higher than listed. Payment is due within 48 hours, please— these aren’t necessities for life so you should bid with cash in hand.
