Violet Parr's story

　　DOB: 10/9/18

　　Named after the shy superhero, Violet Parr is a mild-mannered lady in the body of a leaping, bouncing champion. She likes to make herself invisible to observe her surroundings, but once shes decided that the coast is clear, shes suited up and ready for adventure!

　　Nothing makes Violet happier than a heaping bowl of kibble, a feathery string toy, or a calm lap with a hand ready to scratch. She does take a moment to check things out and make sure her criteria is being met, but once she does, she reveals her sweet nature and her huge purr motor. Cradle her like a baby and rub her belly or the spot around her ears and she turns into a rumbling purr avalanche. She likes to check out that the laps arent going to move or relocate, before ambling up and settling in for a cuddle. She probably wouldnt do well in a home with young children, but she does relax quickly when she sees things are quiet and safe.

　　Her foster parents have been working on making her a braver little kitten. Shes not afraid of brooms or hand vacs, and has been known to attack broom bristles and piles of dust on the floor. Violet is a watcher, and likes to observe things before getting involved. Shes very curious but not boldly inquisitive; it takes her a moment to gain her confidence before she leaps. She loves cat trees and high perches for this, nothing makes her happier than a safe little cubby or box to peek out of to watch the world.

　　She is also a chatty lady; when shes hungry, she tells the world. When she thinks a door should be open, she lets everyone know about it. She ever talks to her toys, with a tiny chirping little squeak as she gnaws on them and tries to eviscerate them with her bunny kicks. She also enjoys intentionally dunking her toys in her water dish, either to keep them hydrated or maybe as some form of feline water torture.

　　Shes learned that wiggling fingers and kissy noises mean come get some headrubs and after making sure the coast is clear, she comes trotting over for headrubs. Once shes decided the headrubs are satisfactory, she sets up camp and will claim any lap as her own.

　　Her foster parents have also been working on teaching her cat manicures are fun, and so far shes learning that getting a nail trim is tolerable. Bribes with some dehydrated chicken definitely help!

　　Violet has also learned cat manners from older cats in her foster home; she gets along well with the adults and even the cranky senior cats. She does enjoy the company of older cats and tries to follow them around. Mostly its to steal their toys or treats that they might not catch in time.

　　She doesnt seem to initiate a lot of wrestling play with her siblings, but make no mistake she can wriggle and hold her own in a tussle! Shes lost a few whiskers to duels with her siblings, but theyll grow back and shell get better at playfighting. Her favorite is to play with toys; crinkle balls, spring toys, cat tubes, and even small plush dolls. If she can grab it with her teeth and kick it, its awesome!
