Vintage Rare Early 5 String Banjo Rettburg & Lange Ready...
Nov 20, 2024
Description

Old rare Rettburg & Lange 5 string banjo from the 20s or possibly earlier. It’s got a 10.5” Fiberskyn head. It’s 36” long. The spun-over cladding acts as a tone hoop; this little, light 30 bracket banjo sounds great. Loud & clear w/ great playability. The hoop looks alot like a Supertone & the peghead inlay that of a Slingerland. The 5th tuner is a Gotoh aged nickel. It’s got a raw brass No Knot tailpiece & raw brass wire armrest. The bridge is a .65, slightly higher than a 5/8s”; great for clawhammer style playing. The geared tuners are Japanese, I believe from the 1960s.Sorry no case. Thanks for looking.
