It looks like this hat was produced somewhere between 2001 and 2003, while John Andretti raced #43 for Petty Enterprises under General Mills' Cheerios sponsorship.

　　The hat is a glossy black weave with a medium blue barely visible through the weave. The logo on the front brow is a brightly colored, raised embroidery patch. The brim is slightly curved and the brow section is stiff and and well-shaped. There is also an embroidered "43" with Andretti's signature on the left side of the hat. It still has its new tag on it, which seems to indicate that it was purchased all those years ago and then left on the hat peg or shelf. There's an adjustable velcro strap in back, with the NASCAR logo embroidered on it.
