You are bidding on a Gorgeous older Model 300 Getzen from about 1982. Serial # K65152Take a good look at the last 3 photos...they are the before pics. I completely disassembled, disinfected, acid cleaned and polished. I then applied two coats of Renaissance wax to the horn to protect the raw brass. This wax was developed by British Museum...they use it on everything from armor to paper to the Queen's old girdles. What?I did not touch or attempt to remove the remaining lacquer so one can see the history in this horn. Since it had good bit of pitting but no red rot, I hand hammered the bell to match the valve stock pitting. Ever played a hand hammered Zildjian cymbal? Loud and Bright are the key words here. The wave effect on the valve bore acoustically enhanced the power of this horn. The result is quite stunning. I replaced the short second valve slide. Valves are super fast with solid clack to them. They can be quietened down should one decide to replace the felts. I happen to like them the way they are. Every threaded joint in the valve assembly including stems have been greased for ease of disassembly. Simply gorgeous! This is a great horn to experiment with should one wish to test out different lead pipes. It is a great everyday practice horn and if you happen to drop it, so what?Includes a hard to find Getzen 3C mouthpiece and an older wooden case. The case is solid with a few visible blemishes. The case is very heavy. If you do not want the case, let me know and I will refund you back $15.00 off the shipping cost. This horn will become your favorite studio horn no doubt. The upper register comes with ease as the mouthpiece is a solid match to the horn. Built in Elkhorn, Wisconsin Comes in older solid wood case. This is a Jazz players dream horn! Will look fantastic under the spotlights up on stage! So Gentlemen, Let's have an auction! Ships in a well packed new box via USPS
