Vintage Ceramic Japanese Tea Cup/Mug (#210) $15
Are you looking for that perfect tea cup or mug?
Well, you may have found it?This is an attractive vintage handcrafted stoneware tea cup/mug with vibrant firebrick colors and chocolate brown streaks on the rim and scattered around the body. I believe the tea cup is about 40+ years old and was hand-painted and designed with bamboo shoots to create this wonderfully unique calligraphy. A piece of art to be enjoyed during tea time or perfect for your morning green tea or juice.
The mug is also decorated with four fancy Japanese calligraphy characters that translate to read the city of ?Izu?, which is located about 100 miles southwest of Tokyo. On the other side of the mug, the writings imply the city of ?Hakone?, located at the base of Izu-peninsula which is surrounded by soaring mountains and a picturesque lake that has numerous spa resorts.
This would make a perfect gift for a tea lover or a collector since this type of pottery is hard to find, even in Japan. It is quite rare, so why not make it your own personal tea cup.
