Vintage c.1880s era American mule team construction crew, no details are known. Looks like they are either working on road construction or in a quarry. Has some excellent detail, sepia tone with a silvery finish in dark areas. Has been mounted on a poor quality back board which was common practice in late Victorian times. Image size is 10" x 17 1/4", paper is 10 3/4" x 20 3/4", board is a few inches longer. There are a few surface nicks and marks, normal aging and light wear, board has some edge damage and is fairly brittle. This would be a good candidate for restoration. An unusual addition to any industrial, photography collection or for a historical society!
