Vintage Antique American Folk Art 5 String Banjo 1920-the 1930sThis Banjo has been in my family for several generations. The story goes that my Great Great Grandfather hand-made this Banjo and inlaid his wife's initials into the neck of the banjo. Her name was Dessie Merl Alvey. The tuning pegs on the headstock were replaced by Fender pegs sometime in the 1960s.This banjo is a true masterpiece with a genuine leather head stretched over a copper and brass rim. This piece would be a great addition to anyone's collection. You are purchasing this item as is so please look at the pictures provided.
