This is a ‘64 Holton model 28 professional level cornet in very good working condition but does have some finish loss, primarily on the bell tube after the flare and on the leadpipe and the 1st and 2nd valve, mostly on the 1st valve where the left thumb rests on the casing. However, the loss is mostly minor and the horn is still very attractive with its tri-color design of a red brass bell, silver leadpipe and slide and valve casing accents, and brass receiver and slides. The 3rd slide stop rod was missing when I acquired the horn but it has been replaced, although it is not original to the horn but it looks good and serves the purpose. I believe this is a large bore (.485”) cornet. There are a couple of very small, hard to see, dings on the bell flare. Valves are in good shape and the horn has good compression. It comes with a Holton 77 mouthpiece which is in excellent condition and the original guarantee card. Sorry, but there is no case. This is one of Holton’s iconic horns and plays freely with excellent tone. Lots of enjoyable playing left in this instrument. I accept payment only in accordance with Ebay policy.
