This is the car that Mattel's Barbie doll dreamed of in the 1960s. And what sassy modern girl wouldn't have? Barbie's open top roadster resembles the sleek Austin Healy 3000, one of the most sophisticated sports cars of its day. Barbie's car features a coral pink exterior and turquoise interior, with chrome-like fenders, grill, headlights, and spoke wheels on the whitewall tires. The car even has a personalized license plate front and back. Bucket seats large enough for Barbie to sit in and room enough in the 2-seater for a friend (maybe Ken?). Made in the USA for Mattel by Irwin. Important addition to any Barbie collection or mid-century toy collection.
Good condition. Colors still bright. Windshield cracked and piece missing (2.25" x 1"). One side vent window missing. Front fender cracked but intact. Rear fender side piece missing (2"). Some wear to chrome-like paint overall and to white paint on tires.
18" L x 7.25" W x 4" H (5.5" H to top of windshield)
