This is a vintage Silaflex Medallion fly rod, MSP 55-2 "mite", in excellent condition, used. I believe the rod was made in 1960. It is two pieces, five and a half feet long and has been stored in the original tube and not used for over 40 years. The cork handle is darkened a bit, but is intact. The rod is in excellent shape, with no fraying at the guides, and the connection fits tight. It has the original sticker and painted model number. The storage tube is aluminum (painted brown) with a threaded aluminum cap. The cap operates smoothly and it fits tightly, with no damage to the threads. The outside of the tube is shows some wear, and there is one hole about the size of a pencil eraser (see photo).  The original sock is also included (not pictured), though it has significant damage, possibly from mice. Sold as-is.
