img{max-width:100%}Vintage Civil War era FIFE InstrumentDescriptionHere is a vintage Civil War era (ca 1), marked; "WILLIAM HALL & SON, (70?)Broadway N-York - B", Rosewood FIFE musical instrument (the street number is faded, I believe it's a "70").  I believe there is a "B" underneath the address, indicating the note of the instrument? I'm not a musician, so just a guess with a little research.The fife has brass ends, which have an Apple design etching on one end.  There are very minor scratches/dents on the brass.  There is a hairline crack in the wood, next to the cheater end (see pics).  The pewter cheater is in very good condition for it's age.  The cheater mouthpiece I believe is made of pewter.  I tried using a magnet, and it won't attract, so it's a non-ferrous metal. The fife measures;  16 3/4" to each brass end.Just a unique piece of 1800's musical history! FREE SHIPPING TO LOWER 48 STATES!!Shipping InformationShipping will be through USPS, UPS, or FedEx, depending on the particular item.  Delivery Time: 5-7 business days (Varies by Destination)Shipping Carriers are responsible on the delivery time.
