Vida Blue's story

　　Vida Blue: 5 year old, blue & rust, neutered male, cropped ears & docked tail, 12" 9 lbs. Shots up-to-date, micro chipped. Rescued from shelter.

　　Vida Blue is part of the group of smart, energetic, adorable, and human loving, petite Mini Pinschers rescued from a Northern California shelter. This wonderful group of sweethearts was surrendered by a "backyard breeder" and most of this group were heartworm positive. Vida Blue was one of those with Heartworms and bravely went through the lengthy treatment. He has concluded his treatment and is now Heartworm free. Vida Blue is, as his name suggests, a blue and rust Mini Pinscher and is a wonderful representative of what a Mini Pin should look and act like. His pictures do not come close to doing him justice. He is absolutely breathtaking. One look at him and I was smitten!

　　In addition to being amazingly beautiful, he is just the sweetest and cuddliest little guy. Since it is doubtful that he was well socialized, he is a little shy, but once he gets to know you, he will come right up for a little loving. He is not particularly needy, but he does want to be where he can see his humans at all times, and does not do well in a crate, especially at night. He wants to cuddle with his humans under the covers. He is fearless about strangers coming into his territory and will let his humans know that someone is there. He quiets quickly once he knows you are OK with the visitor.

　　Blue gets along very well with dogs, large and small, and when introduced to the resident cat showed no indication of wanting to harm her. He has had the opportunity to be reintroduced to two of the group he was surrendered with, and after months of being apart, they remembered each other. He was full of happy dances, wiggles, licks and cuddles for his former yard mates. Even though he loves playing with other dogs, humans remain his favorites, even after being abandoned and tossed aside. What a testament he is to forgiveness and a willingness to move on and trust again.

　　Because Vida Blue is a shy, petite little man, he will not be suitable to a home with small children. He is also easily upset by loud noises, lots of chaos and angry human voices. Not only will he run and look for cover, but he will shake violently. He is a lover, not a fighter. All he wants is a little peace and quiet and someone to dote on.

　　Vida Blue's eye are sensitive, especially to bright light. He also has a very short, sparse coat and gets cold easily so he needs to be in a home where he can be inside most of the time, which shouldn't be a problem since he's housebroken and can use a doggie door.

　　This little boy may be 5 years old, but you would never know it. He has many years of life left and is full of energy and runs or struts around exploring and loving his life. When he wags his little tail, his whole body wags with it. Now that he is healthy and feeling great, he just needs a forever home where he can be at peace and the center of his human's world, where they can be the center of his, and he can receive the loving care he deserved all along.
