Vicky's story
Meet Vicky! Vicky came to BDAR originally as a young pup. She and her brother were adopted together, and did not develop the social skills and manners to be successful. When they returned to BDAR, Vicky and her brother Rudy were enrolled in the P.A.C.K. Program in hopes of developing confidence and manners. Now, after 9-weeks at the P.A.C.K. Program, an intensive program for routine obedience, agility, and handling training with a prison inmate trainer, she has learned so many of the manners a good pup needs. She has already learned all of her basic commands, such as sit', stay', heel', and lay down', and has even learned 'shake' and 'pray' - she is even learning to 'Sit Pretty'!
Vicky does well with other dogs and will play once she gets more comfortable, though she can be shy at first if it's a new friend or a new place. She has great manners now - but sometimes will get excited to see her human and jump up to greet them. She is incredibly smart and bonds well with people. She is crate trained, and seems to be pretty calm while left alone - though she has nibbled the edges of blankets if she gets bored in her kennel. Vicky is graduating from the program at the end of March and will be ready for her forever home so apply to meet her today!
