VELVET GIRL-Courtesy Post's story
Hi everyone! My foster mom gave me the name "VELVET GIRL" as it sounds a bit like a super hero, which she says I am!
Here's my super hero story! I am about 7 months old now..... born about August 15, 2018. I had a long journey to get to this point in rescue! I'm very petite, sleek and shiny, with short hair with stunning amber eyes.
My adult mom only weighs 6 pounds and I'm tiny just like her.
My homeless, but tame mom cat had a litter of four kittens in the backyard of a yard where she hoped we would be safe.
Sadly though, she didn't realize there were two large dogs who thought we were intruders to their space.
Two of my siblings were killed by the dogs. The lady of the house, upon learning that we were in the yard and in great danger, scooped our mom and us up and put us in a very small area of the home for safely. We could continually hear the dogs that wanted to get to us so it was still VERY scary!! We lived rather isolated until a rescue became available to help us out. I had a very severe hernia that needed extensive repair with surgery and my sister and I were both diagnosed with a mild heart murmur. The doctor said we will be just fine though, and I prove that each and every day with how active I am!
I love my sister ( Lil' Chatty Missy ) and we are super bonded, as we have survived a great deal together! In foster care, I've become braver each day! I love chasing the red dot of a lazer pointer, I'm super fast and very athletic. My favorite spot is up high on the tallest cat tower! I play fetch with fuzzy ball toys and walk around with them in my mouth. My sister and I love to run around after each other and play tag!
I LOVE my yummy canned cat food and although I am shy and cautious at first I'm learning to trust more all the time.
Neither my sister or I are huge fans of being picked up, however, when my foster dad watches TV, we love to lay close to him and flip and roll in pure happiness for petting and attention! In fact we pretty much make fools of ourselves when we are getting pet from head to toe. We just can't get enough of that kind of attention!
Our wish is to be adopted together.
We like kind doggies and have been good with adult kitties in foster care. We play quite energetically, so we really like the boy kitties as they put up with our energy and antics! We would do best in an adult family that understands that rescue kitties who have had a rough and scary start in life need more time and patience to continue to thrive.
I am spayed, up to date on vaccines and have tested negative for FeLV/ FIV.
