circa.1910, Vega, Bowl Back Mandolin, in excellent playing condition.Serial # 26881 (Stamped into top of peghead)The original recessed tuners were no longer functioning and replaced with Rubner RMp premium tuners, peghead recesses were eliminated and new mahogany and peghead overlay wood was grafted to original peghead.  New ebony fretboard with new thin nickel silver fretwire installed. Original engraved tailpiece cover in excellent condition. Mandolin bowl and neck refinished with nitrocellulose laquer and is in beautiful condition with no cracks or repairs. Has some finish scratches to peghead and one finish ding on the back.The spruce top has the original finish and is crack free and in excellent condition. Original bridge fitted perfectly to top. Pick guard in excellent condition with no cracks or delamination.. Has nice low action, plays and sounds fantastic. Currently has a new set of Thomastic light gauge strings. Comes with a new Gewa hard shell case.
