I have a lovable Umbrella Cuckatoo that was hatched on 7/26/04. He has been healthy since I owned him right after his hand raising baby days. He talks(mumbles) gives kisses, will allow misting or joining you in the shower, loves being petted, and just a wonderful bird. He has an remarkable story. He had acidentally gotten thru a window and was flying loose. He stayed around the neighborhood for about a week until a jack hammer started tearing up the street close to where is was staying/flying around. That was it, off he flew. About 2 days later he was spotted over a pastor's house and before I got there, he took off again. A couple of days after that he got tuckered out and decided to hitch-hike on I-95 (yes he was walking on 95 and traffic was going slow and around him). Someone decided that he didn't belong there and captured him. The vet they took him to called a bird rescue that knew someone reported a lost bird and I was then contacted by the saviors of this bird. The cage is in great condition and is a good size for this type of bird.
All I ask is to come see it, if finding it something that you want, please come visit it for awhile to get use to Smoochie (cuckatoo's name) and him to get used to you. That keeps them from stressing out and being scared. This worked for me on any bird I got that I didn't have issues later. Those birds never plucked their own feathers, no constant screaming, no meanness. I advice some research into a cuckatoo for anyone that never had one. Rescue organizations post the truth about these birds. Also if still interested in this cuckatoo, if there is no need for my cage, I will sell him for $500.
