　　FRESH FROM AN OLD COLLECTION HERE IN CONNECTICUT. THIS IS A WONDERFUL EARLY EXAMPLE OF A MINIATURE TABLE TOP STEPBACK PEWTER CUPBOARD.

　　A VERY RARE EARLY 19TH CENTURY AMERICAN MINIATURE TABLE TOP STEPBACK PEWTER CUPBOARD IN ITS ORIGINAL SALMON RED PAINT.

　　ALL PINE AND POPLAR, NEW ENGLAND OR PENNSYLVANIA, CIRCA 1.

　　MADE IDENTICAL TO A FULL SIZE EXAMPLE THIS PIECE

　　IS MADE IN ONE PIECE WITH A STEPPED BACK TOP SECTION WHICH HAS TWO FULL DEPTH SCALLOPED SHELVES AND TWO HALF DEPTH SQUARED SHELVES. THE BOTTOM SECTION WHICH HAS TWO "FAUX" DRAWERS WITH ITS ORIGINAL HAND CAST BRASS PULLS.

　　THE ENTIRE PIECE HAS A BEADED APPLIED MOLDING ON THE FRONT A FULL APPLIED TOP MOLDING AS WELL.

　　THE SIDES AND FRONT HAVE A CUT OUT BOOT-JACK STYLE FOOT.

　　THE ORIGINAL BACKBOARD IS STILL ATTACHED WITH EARLY HAND SQUARE HEAD WROUGHT NAILS THROUGHOUT.

　　THE ENTIRE PIECE IS IN ITS ORIGINAL SALMON RED PAINT. IT WAS OVER-PAINTED WITH A WHITE WASH IN THE LATE 19TH CENTURY BUT THAT WAS PROFESSIONALLY REMOVED TO REVEAL THE ORIGINAL SALMON RED BENEATH.

　　IT HAS GREAT WEAR PATTERNS AND WONDERFUL COLOR AND PATINA.

　　THE PAINT AND COLOR AND SO MUCH BETTER IN PERSON THEN THE PHOTOS.

　　THESE EARLY EXAMPLES WERE MADE AS TABLE TOP PIECES FOR THE LADY OF THE HOUSE AND NOT AS A CHILD'S PIECE.

　　THEY WERE MADE IN EXACTING PROPORTIONS TO THE ORIGINAL PIECES AND OFTEN WERE MADE TO MATCH A FULL SIZE EXAMPLE IN THE HOME.

　　THEY WERE USED TO DISPLAY THE WOMAN'S MINIATURE COLLECTION.

　　27 1/2" tall, the case is 18 1/2" wide and 6" deep at the base.

　　Typical wear associated with the age of the item WITH THE ONLY ADDITION BEING A FEW LATER NAILS IN THE BACK FOR ADDED SUPPORT.
