My story

　　A Texas Size Howdy to Miss Sally & Miss Suzie!

　　Miss Sally and Miss Suzie are a very bonded pair and would LOVE to be a part of your family.  They came into rescue due to the death of their owner and have blossomed in their foster home.  They came with no previous vet records, the owner’s daughter told us they were 7 yrs old, but Vet and Foster Mom estimates their age at 10-11.  Energy level more like 5-6.  Upon their arriving into their foster home, they weighed around 24 pounds.  Foster Mom likes her Brits to be a bit bigger, so she upped the food intake and they both look great weighing in around 28 pounds.  They are spayed, UTD on all vaccinations, HW negative and on preventative, recently had their teeth cleaned and microchipped!

　　Foster Mom would not suggest a home with cats, unless your cats could care less about dogs staring at them ALL day long.  Sally & Suzie are simply curious with the cats, have not attacked, but are intent on finding the cats and then staring.  Foster Mom has 4 cats, so she knows all about the staring.  I will upload the girls staring at cats.  It is hilarious.

　　When not staring at the cats, these girls want to be with you wherever you go.  If you do not mind having an audience when you visit the bathroom these girls are perfect for you.  Foster Mom has yet to take a shower or bath without them lying on the mat, waiting for her to step out.  They initially enjoyed sleeping on the bed however Foster Mom has taught them the location of their OWN beds and they have slept there ever since.  If there is an available dog bed for Foster Mom’s larger dogs, they will be found sleeping together. There have been a few accidents in the house however once everyone understood the routine and “signs of need” there has not been any other accidents. 

　　Sally & Suzie have done well with other dogs, preferring ones their own size.  They ride very well in the car.  Barking only when necessary - “Let me IN”.  So far, they are NOT scared or affected by storms / thunder.

　　Even though these girls are similar 95% of the time there are a few differences. Sally is more adventurous.  She will go and investigate and if Suzie sees that it is safe, she will join the investigation.  Sally walks ahead on the leash; Suzie wants to be next to you.  Sally is taking medication for hip arthritis however Foster Mom does not see any signs of pain or limitation when she runs large circles in the yard and or around the kitchen island.  Suzie takes medication for a heart murmur.  This also does not seem to slow her down.  Sally has larger eyes; Suzie has more orange on her back. 

　　Bottomline – If you are looking for companion dogs these are the perfect dogs for you!  They are a bonded pair, NBRAN and Foster Mom will NOT split them up so please do not ask.  Please have a fenced in yard, but can be 4 ft.

　　Medical Note:  Suzie does have a grade 5 heart murmur, but just a simple heart murmur.  She is only on Vetmedin.  She had x-rays and an echocardiogram, and everything was just fine.  No masses.   Sally needs some comfort once in a while for her arthritis.  They are very happy loving senior girls. We will be more than happy to let you and your vet look at the medical records and/or talk with the vet.

　　Transportation can be arranged up 1400 miles with the adopter being responsible for at least the last 100 miles.
