This metal bed measures 38" wide x 76" long. This bed is from the early 1940's. The head & foot boards are hollow steel in a half moon style with 7-bars.

　　The headboard is 46" tall and measures 20-1/4" from floor to the bottom of vertical rails. The footboard is 35" tall and measures 9-1/4" from floor to bottom of vertical rails. Siderails are 2" angle iron and measure 11" from top of rail to floor and 9" from bottom of rail to floor. The casters are metal. Also included are the original

　　coil-type springs which have cross bars for strength; measure 37" wide by 73" long at the bottom and the top is 3" less. The overall thickness of the springs is 8 1/2". I think the outer frame of the springs is steel for weight bearing strength. The bed and springs were refinished in semi-gloss white some time ago.

　　Just add a twin mattress and you have a very comfortable bed.
