　　The Humane Society of West Alabama's cat adoption center at 1515 Veterans Memorial Pkwy is open Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. Appointments are available for other times with advance notice. We're all-volunteer need at least a couple of days of advance notice to schedule appointments.

　　The Humane Society of West Alabama's Home for the Holidays campaign aims to have as many homeless pets home by the end of December as possible! During November & December 2012, we've waived adoption fees for adult cats 1 year and older and reduced younger cats' fees to only $40! Make a cat's Christmas wish come true!

　　Ritzy needs a temporary foster home.

　　Ritzy would like to find a foster home, if at all possible. If you can temporarily foster (not foster to adopt - you'll need to apply for adoption beforehand), please send us a fostering application, found HERE .

　　Please meet Ritzy, a gorgeous young young lady, no more than 3 years old. She has gorgeous green eyes! A bit rare, since tuxedo eyes are usually yellow! Beautiful Ritzy had been rescued by wonderful people, but they just couldn't keep her very long. Ritzy is a sweet young lady! She'd make a perfect sidekick! She already wears a mask on her face! Ritzy is gentle, and would do well around children who are gentle with her. We aren't sure how well she'd adjust around dogs. Please visit our cat adoption center to meet this beautiful girl!

　　Our flat adoption fee is $75, a fee to help defray a fraction of veterinary costs and general care expenses. Our adoptable animals have routine vet visits, and are as healthy as possible as soon as they are in our care. Vet records are provided to adopters. Read the descriptions thoroughly and note the specific personalities or special criteria we recommend (some are not good around kids, other cats, dogs, etc.). We cannot accept applications from minors/legal dependents. Read up on our adoption process .
