My story

　　TUXEDODOB: 05.25.2019*55.0 lbs (as of 08/05/2021)Tuxedo (“Tux”) will brighten your days with his happy-go-lucky attitude. With Tux, you get the best of both worlds: He’s cheery, fun, goofy, playful, and also easily calms down, wanting to cuddle up next to you and put his head in your lap (one of his rescuers calls him her cuddle buddy). He wants to be by your side and experience life together. He loves humans, dogs and is good with cats! He is the epitome of resilience. Life has not been easy for Tux. He was abandoned in a remote area, malnourished, with both of his hips out of socket. His body compensated for this condition, and he was still able to walk and run incredibly well, with a bit of a unique gait that’s adorable and adds to his charm. While he had great mobility and didn’t show signs of pain, a visit to the veterinary orthopedic surgeon revealed that he actually had a lot of discomfort in his hip joint area. He had just learned to deal with it and acted as if the pain didn’t exist. Luckily, Tux has a medical sponsor who is paying for him to have FHO surgery on both hips, which will alleviate the pain and allow even better mobility. He also has an amazing medical foster who’s a veterinarian, ensuring that he heals properly and with full strength. He had surgery on his first hip in November and is walking great on it already, without pain! Surgery on his other hip will follow soon, and we know he’ll recover like a champ! Tuxedo is a shining example that you can overcome obstacles and still happily live life to the fullest! All he needs now is YOU, his forever person / people!
