My story
Tumble is a 1-2 year old Shih Tzu Mix weighing about 15lbs. Tumble had spent the first year or two of his life living outside with his mom on the Navajo Nation. We were finally able to take Tumble and Susie into our rescue program since their living conditions became worse and worse. When Tumble came to CO he was covered in dirt, ticks, fleas, matts, and was not in great shape. We quickly got him to the groomers and to our vet. Prior to coming to our rescue program, a non-profit program on the Navajo Nation had covered Tumbles front leg amputation. We are not too sure on the history or cause of the amputation, but can assume it was due to an injury of living outside. He does not even seem to notice that he has three legs, and gets around great.
Tumble is still able to play with the fosters other dogs, big and small, despite his leg amputation. He would love a home with another dog to play with or someone who can take him on daily walks/outings to get his puppy-like energy out. He is learning to be an indoor dog and absolutely loving it. The warm blankets and human snuggles are quickly becoming his favorite past time. Tumble loves all humans and is just the sweetest guy!
While we know Tumbles mom is Susie, the Shih Tzu, we don't know what Tumbles dad is. We do not seem to shed too much, and will need regular grooming appointments, but we cannot guarantee he is a nonshedding dog, or hypoallergenic.
