Tucker's story
Tucker is a two year old, black, 70 pound male. He lived as a stray around Sierra Vista until a kind soul contacted DLRR on his behalf. He has been at my home since early December where he lives with three other dogs, one cat, three horses and one mule. Most dogs bark at horses when they first see them but Tucker seems to have been around them before. He ignores the cat unless the little dog chases it then he also chases her. He is submissive to my large, old Shepard and likes the smallest dog. He loves blankets and dog beds and will carry his food bowl to a rug to eat. He uses the doggie door. When he first was here he checked the total fence perimeter and all the gates for a exit. He comes to his name well now, sits when told and is fair on a leash. He takes treats gently, eats slowly, loves bones but not toys or balls. He is very tolerant and hardly barks. He does not want to get in the car when I take him to the vet but once in rides quietly.
Tucker tested positive for Valley Fever and is on medication. I believe Tuckers activity level will continue to increase as his health improves. He is a dog who learns quickly and wants to please. I think he even has a bit of a sense of humor sometimes with me! As all dogs, he needs a confident pack leader to assure him he is safe.
