My story
Foster Notes:3-year-old Truffle is what is we call an All American Dog. Without a DNA test, no one knows for sure what her make up is. One day she looks like a boxer, another day a small lab, and someone even thought she was part whippet. She is not a big dog, standing only 20 inches at the shoulder and weighing about 35 pounds.
As with most strays, we don't know anything about her background other than that she leads us to believe she has a history of abuse. She came to our rescue with six 2-day-old puppies and was a great and attentive mother. The puppies have been adopted. Truffle is very gentle with what she does except when she is chasing lizards. She seems to prefer women but I believe with time and patience, she will learn to trust men again. Truffle is house trained.
She likes car rides and getting up on furniture. She is also a great watch dog. She currently lives with a dachshund and plays very well with him. We don't know how she will do with cats. Once Truffle trusts the leash again, she will make a great hiking buddy. I know she will make a great companion dog for someone with a little time and patience
If you have any questions or would like to adopt Truffle, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
