　　ABOUT HAZEL.........

　　I love other dogs. I am the queen of peace and would have been a sixties flower child had I been born human. My foster mom says I am elegant and gentle. I am funny and I talk. I am only a couple years old, so I do indulge in play. However, solid naps on the couch are my ABSOLUTE FAVORITEcomplete with a blanket, of course. I get disturbed by little things like loud beeping electronics or especially loud noises. It took my foster dad extra time to win my heart, and now I love him so. I must have a particular foodscience diet kdto help my kidneys do their best, and I need to be let outside a little more often than some. I get to go on car trips a LOT, because I behave beautifully while riding. I can be called skittish, so I'm never off-leash or fenceless. I am heartworm negative.

　　My past was rough. ARF saved me, and my heart is full. Could you love me? Could you commit to me like I will commit to you?

　　HAZEL is a female tricolored Treeing Walker Hound and is approximately 3 1/2 years old (May 2012). She is a large dog and weighed only 51 pounds when she arrived at ARF. HAZEL was found on the side of the woods on an old country road where a kind lady rescued her. She was severely malnourished and emaciated and her skin was in terrible condition at the time of her rescue pointing to possible abandonment. With a lot of TLC and her strong desire to be happy and healthy again, HAZEL has blossomed into the beautiful girl she is today!
