My story
Once upon a time, in a land far, far away, known as the village of Milliken, Colorado, a gorgeous tuxedo kitten named Tree House lived with other kittens and cats. Tree House traveled to the establishment called Animal Friends Alliance where these magicians' make animals healthy and social, so we can have
the best possible lives. From AFA, I was put in a transport box and taken to the village of Greeley, Colorado to live in a lovely castle. I was a terrified kitten. I feared everything! I hissed, growled, spat, and cowered in the corner. Then, the most amazing thing occurred, there was a bed, blanket, warm room, a constant supply of food, water, toys, and my very own foster mom. Then there were pets with a magical stick. I did not like them at first, but then it felt surprisingly good. Then there were hands that were
petting, again I was not sure, but then it felt great. I have even started to get pets on my own.
So, for my happily ever after I would like to suggest the following:
1) I will need a patient and understanding person or persons. I have come a long way, but I still
need help becoming a confident and outgoing cat.
2) I do not think I would be a good fit for small children.
3) I do have a habit of nipping. I am trying not to do that, but I will give you clues.
4) Absolutely, no playing with your hands. Toys only please!
5) I love other cats. I have played with two of the resident cats and they are so much fun. It would be amazing if you had another social cat to help me continue to learn the ways!
6) For a kitten that would not play, I have discovered that toys are fun. The moth and caterpillar are two of my absolute favorites. I also like the fluffy/furry toys, but they sometimes end up in
the water dish.
7) I have the best litter habits. I do tend to get a little carried away covering up my business. A high sided litter pan would be great.
8) I like both wet food and kibble. I also like treats.
9) I am a talker and a great listener.
10) I would prefer a larger size carrier. I am not a fan of the smaller carriers. (I still need to learn that these "transporting boxes are a good thing.)
11) A smaller room like a bathroom would be great in the beginning. (I have been staying in the "spa bathroom at my castle.) Once settled in, I would love to explore the rest of the castle.
12) I may never be a "cuddle cat, but I do lay on or near my foster mom. Have your people call my people and we will set up a Meet and Greet! Plan to spend extra time as it takes Tree House a little bit to warm up to new people.
If you have any questions or would like to adopt Tree House, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
