　　The Humane Society of West Alabama's cat adoption center at 1515 Veterans Memorial Pkwy is open Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. Appointments are available for other times with advance notice. We're all-volunteer and need at least a couple of days of advance notice to schedule appointments.

　　This very beautiful young lady is Amelia, a short-haired female Tortoiseshell kitten. Amelia is still just a baby at app. 6-7 months of age. Amelia is a gentle, sweet little lady! She loves attention from people, and is a very talkative little kitten! We named her after Amelia Earhart, for her love of adventure and daring spirit! She does well around other cats, but we aren't sure how she'd handle dogs. She should do well around children. She'd be a wonderful companion cat! 　　Our flat adoption fee is $75, a fee to help defray a fraction of veterinary costs and general care expenses. Our adoptable animals have routine vet visits, and are as healthy as possible as soon as they are in our care. Vet records are provided to adopters. Read the descriptions thoroughly and note the specific personalities or special criteria we recommend (some are not good around kids, other cats, dogs, etc.). We cannot accept applications from minors or legal dependents. Read up on our adoption process .
