My story
This gorgeous fella goes by the name Thunder. If you like chunky, big-headed dogs, hes your man! Hes a very fit 5-6 year old mastiff mix and a favorite of our shelter staff and volunteers. After 4 years in a home, he was returned to the shelter in 2019 because his owner was no longer able to care for him. He is very friendly, housebroken and good with kids and most other dogs. He adores to have someone play ball with him and let him race around the play yard. Because of his size and strength, he would do better with older children. And, as far as leash walks, being such a large boy he needs someone strong enough to handle him. A volunteer who took him home for an overnight visit said he was a perfect gentlemanquiet, calm, housebroken, non-destructive, and good with her small dogs. She said he sat calmly in the passenger seat on the drive home and did not even try to get in the back seat to investigate the Pizza Hut pizza sitting there! Please ask to meet him and see if you have a place in your heart and home to rescue this guy for the last time.
