Thumbelina's story
My name is Thumbelina and I am a 10 year old spay female Japanese Chin. I came into rescue with 3 of my friends from a responsible breeder. I am very shy initially but am really starting to come out of my shell and am very playful and like to snuggle with my human on the couch. I have always been loved and cared for and have a sweet disposition. I had 3 mammary tumors removed when I was spay and one of them is a Grade 1 malignant. The margins were clear and because the veterinarian removed the whole chain we are optimistic that we were able to get it all in this very early stage. I am doing great on housetraining and love to go outside and play. I am looking for a home where there is at least one other small dog. I have never been around children, but because I tend to be more shy and timid I think older kids would be better. I will need to have a monthly breast exam and since I can't do it myself I am looking for an owner who can check me once a month to make sure I don't have any extra lumps. I am learning how to walk on a leash, however it still is a little frightening for me. Since I have only been in rescue a couple of weeks my foster parents are still learning all about me.
